The suspected gunman accused of trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump in Palm County is expected in federal court after he was taken into custody in a neighboring county after he fled.

It's the second assassination attempt made against Trump since he was shot in the ear two months ago in Pennsylvania.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office wrote it has stopped a vehicle on northbound Interstate 95 and taken a suspect into custody who is believed to be connected to the shooting.
